Jennifer Lopez has come a long way from her “Jenny from the Block” Days. The actress and mother of two is turning 46 years old this July 24, yet still looks hot as ever. The American Idol judge is known for looking radiant on the red carpet and for her age-defying features. Judging from her latest music video, Booty, where she flaunts her best assets, she’s still got a rocking body, as well.

How does she manage to look so beautiful and rested all the time? Here are a few of her proven beauty and fitness secrets that you can follow to get her glow.

Drink a lot of Water Throughout the Day

In an interview with Dr. Oz, Jennifer shared that her number one beauty secret was water – lots and lots of water.

“Believe it or not, it does help keep your weight down. For me, it just feels good. It’s mostly what I drink all the time,” she shared with viewers of the show.

While she doesn’t keep a strict count of how much water she drinks during the day, she always makes sure to stay hydrated. It also helps that she doesn’t smoke cigarettes or drink alcohol.

Get enough Sleep

Another beauty secret that she swears by that most people take for granted is getting enough sleep.

“I try and get in between 7 and 9 hours of sleep a night. I’d love 11 if I can get it, but usually I manage to get between 6 and eight hours of sleep,” J. Lo shared in the same interview.

Maintain a Healthy Diet

The actress follows a sugar- and salt-free diet and is big on portion-control. She founded and is currently the spokeswoman for BodyLab, a line of health and fitness formulas designed specially for a woman’s body. One of her favorite shakes is called Berry Berry Good Smoothie, which she claims can help boost metabolism and enhance energy levels. Though she now eats lean meat, she once went on a 22-day vegan challenge and realizes the importance of vegetables like broccoli and carrots, which she currently keeps as diet staples.

The actress isn’t one to shy away from a workout. She worked hard to get rid of her baby weight and even signed up for a sprint triathlon in 2008. The cardio fanatic also swears by the Tracy Anderson method to stay in shape and motivates herself to go to the gym even if she doesn’t feel like working out.

“Sometimes when I get home and I’m not feeling so great, I make myself go to the gym,” she revealed in an interview with Redbook. “Then I come home and take a shower, put on a great outfit, some makeup, tie my hair up, and I feel pepped up and great about myself.”

And then I try to just go from there,” said J. Lo in an Elle interview.
