Gone are the days when yoga pants are strictly for working out only. These days, you can be both comfortable and sporty AND yet not look out of place in the office. Called “athleisure,” this type of clothing is definitely catching on in the market, with lots of small and big retailers now producing their own stylish activewear.
If you are looking for comfortable yoga pants that don’t compromise sophistication and style, here are some brands you can check out.
Lululemon is definitely the trailblazer in the athleisure market. Their yoga pants are not only high quality, but beautifully designed as well. They have now expanded their product line to include activewear meant for other sports, like running, swimming, or simply for just chilling out with friends.
They have also started producing a men’s wear line meant for those with busy, active lives. Founded in Canada in 1998, Lululemon has now over 300 stores worldwide.
While Lululemon produces its own activewear, Bandier is making waves by curating high-end women’s wear created by over 40 designers. The founder, Jennifer Bandier, established the retailer just last year after realizing that while a lot of big-name companies don’t offer stylish activewear, a lot of smaller brands do.
Bandier brought the small brands in one roof, and despite being only a year old, she already has a number of celebrity customers, including HBO’s Girls actor and director Lena Dunham and Liv Tyler. Bandier has an online store, as well as two brick-and-mortar branches in New York with more to open soon.
ADAY, an online store, is a bit new in the market, having been launched only this year. What makes them different, however, is their line of women’s activewear that won’t look out of place in the conference room. Founders Nina Faulhaber and Meg He, both working in investment banking, loved Lululemon but wanted something that can fit in their working lives. Their products are minimalist and available in monochromatic colors.
