Quick Exercises You Can Do on Vacation

Vacations are always good for the mind and for the soul. You get to relax and de-stress after the seemingly endless days you spend running around and getting things done at work.


However, vacations aren’t necessarily good for your body because they provide the perfect excuse for you to laze all day while eating what you want. The solution? Work out while on vacation!

No need to worry if your hotel does not have a pool or a gym. There are several quick exercises you can easily do in your hotel room. These exercises may be simple, but they do the job in helping you stay fit even while on a getaway. Here are three that come highly recommended:

Squats. Squats are not only good for your leg muscles and your core, they also improve your balance and stability. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, place your hands on your hips, and lower your hips until your hamstrings are parallel to the floor. Hold the post. Remember to keep your chest up and your back straight. After 30 seconds, go back to your starting position. Do 10 to 15 reps.

Jumping jacks. Jumping jacks provide a great aerobic workout that helps you burn calories and improve circulation. Stand straight with your arms by your sides, do a slight jump while bringing your legs out to the side and raising your arms over your head. Do another jump while returning to your starting position. Do three sets of 10 to 20 reps.

The Plank. Planking strengthens your core. Lie face down on the floor and lift yourself using your elbows and toes to a pushup position. Contract your abs to prevent your back from arching. Remember to keep your body straight. Hold the position for 30 seconds or more. Do three sets of 3 reps each.
